The FMShell is the result of many modules combined into one FileMaker database. Rather than reinventing the wheel every time you start a new project, consider starting your next project with countless hours of work already completed. After all, time is money. Use FMShell, a fast, easy way to consolidate and re-use FileMaker modules.
Licensing
The licensing is simple. Use FMShell as a starting point for a solution or use a portion of FMShell in a solution. However, each unique solution requires a seperate FMShell purchase. Licensing restricts reselling or giving away any part of this product in such a way that it competes with FMShell.
A few examples would be:
- An in house developer creating a solution for their company would purchase one FMShell.
- A consultant developing a solution for a specific client would purchase one FMShell. If the same solution is sold to additional clients, no additional purchases of FMShell would be required.
- A consultant developing a solution specifically for resale would purchase one FMShell.
- A consultant developing three solutions would purchase three FMShell licenses.

What version of FileMaker Pro should I use?
FileMaker Pro 8.5 is required because it includes several new features including theWeb Viewer.
Where can I purchase FileMaker Pro?
Less than ten user licenses can be purchased from directly from FileMaker, Apple Stores, or from Amazon.com. If you need FileMaker Pro Server or at least ten user licenses, contact us (we'll earn FileMaker Karma points) so that we can put you in touch with FileMaker where you can purchase the product and also receive maintenance.
